Mike Winkelmann AKA Beeple, is an inspiration of hard work and dedication. He is well-known online about his artwork, you’ve definitely seen it somewhere. But, more importantly, he’s known for the movement #everyday, in which 3D artists produce a piece every single day without fail and put it up online, even if it’s crap.
He has been doing it non-stop for 11 years. Insane, I know. But also inspiring.
He calls it crap, and some of it is. But some of it is not. And that’s the takeaway from this, if you wanna create, you need to let go of the fear of producing crap. I guarantee you, it will be crap! See? Now you’re free! Create.
Just like any artist, a writer needs the same kind of perseverance to write on. What if it’s crap? What if people hate it? What if people hate me? Well, you either let go of those thoughts or you leave everything hidden in the drawer, never to be seen by anyone. Or, even worse, you stop creating.
Don’t stop. Persevere. It’ll be crap, but so what? Just have fun along the way.
Now, when I say Mike is an inspiration for me, I’m talking about a multitude of ways. I’m so proud to tell people about the crap I made with his crap. We’re all just little piggies, rolling in it.
Here are some short stories, you can find them on Amazon for now:
