This is the extended version of Blake Snyder’s Beat Sheet from Save the Cat.
When I read that book, everything clicked in my mind. The formula is meant for movies but you can use it to write any story.

Basically all my stories for the past 10 years had a one-sheet like this one. I’d print this and fill it out with the story details, be it a novel or a short story. The more I used this the less I needed to write on the beat sheet, but it helped me formulate the story in my mind.

The concepts and shorthand in Save the Cat works perfectly for me. Everything makes sense.

He expanded the concepts a little bit in Book 2, like the analysis of the Finale, so I added those in.

As far as I know nobody else has done this despite having it up on my site for years now.

So, here you go. All you need to use to write a story is this. Read the books or ask chatgpt to explain the terms. Heck you can even drop this into your chatgpt and tell it to fill it out for you from your draft, or ask you questions to complete it.
