When I started writing the Halloween Raid I wanted to do a little novella every year.
People liked it and reviews were good but I set it aside for too long and before I knew it, 5 years passed.
Now I decided to write book 4 with the help of AI. Inside cursor, I loaded the txt file with the entire boxsex of books 1-3 and told it to parse it and write a story bible in a separate .md file.
Then I told it, we’re writing book 4, set in Paris this time. Let’s brainstorm some ideas. What are the characters doing? How will they grow?
Write all that down in a separate file.
And then I edited some things. I also added two twists that I never revealed in the earlier books but I’ve been meaning to.
And then told it to write another file with a scene list of 40 chapters, making sure they are 2000 words long each. It always fails to hit the mark, so it’s realistically around 1800 words each.
That’s enough for a novel.
Then I told cursor to write chapter 1 in a separate file, making sure to follow scene list and story bible.
I edited chapter 1, then continued on to 2. At 5 chapters, went through everything, made sure the story is on the right track.
And now I continue writing the book.
Hopefully it will be ready for Halloween 🎃.
