Finished Zombie Girls 2.
Entire book ran with AI.
Imported book 1 in cursor as text files (one per chapter).
Told it to write story bible and note down important people, places and events.
Guided book 2. Asked for ideas.
Guided and edited the output.
Asked for 40 scenes list in a separate md file. I use 40 because AI used to write less words than reported, it ended up with about 1500 words per chapter so 40 made up a 55k-62k novel usually.
For some reason now Claude 3.7 outputs large chapters so it’s not necessary but I keep using 40 scenes.
I ask for scene list with noted POV character.
Had cursor with Claude 3.7 write first couple of chapters, told it to reference book 1 and the book 2 story bible and scene list.
It went completely off, ( Claude 3.7 likes to improvise, but that’s why it’s so good at writing. It’s more like having a writing partner than just a robot that types but it needs more attention.)
Edited, fixed storyline. Once I was satisfied, told it to write next chapter, referencing story bible and scene list every time.
At 10 chapters, had it check if the story was on track.
Had to fix an important plot point in the scene list.
Then continued.
Another check at chapter 20 for entire book.
Then wrote everything up to chapter 40.
Ended up with more than 100k words. Which is nice and juicy for kindle unlimited page reads, so I’m happy with it.
It’s more work to edit it though.
Asked cursor to edit entire book, check for characters, inconsistencies, timeline, make sure to follow the scene list.
It improvised a huge change in an important set piece and I had to go back and fix everything. “You’re absolutely right!” Fuck you, Claude.
Let it sit for a couple of days.
Edited the manuscript manually, going back and forth.
Once I was satisfied,.imported MD files into scrivener, created epub, published on Amazon.
Done.
